In this study various propagation models (COST 231 Walfisch-Ikegami W-I, Ericsson and Stanford University Interim SUI) are analyzed and compared with the measurements. The measured data were taken in urban (high density region) and rural (low density region) environments at the operating frequency of 1700 MHz using the spectrum analyzer. As one of the key outputs, It was found that the calculations of SUI model fit with the measured data in urban environment.

Comparison of Radio Propagation Models for Long Term Evolution (LTE) Network

This paper concerns about the radio propagation models used for the upcoming 4 th Generation (4G) of cellular networks known as Long Term Evolution (LTE). The radio wave propagation model or path loss model plays a very significant role in planning of any wireless communication systems. In this paper, a comparison is made between different proposed radio propagation models that would be used fo...

Prediction of LOS based Path-Loss in Urban Wireless Sensor Network Environments

In this paper, to model the path-loss characteristics in urban line-ofsight(LOS) propagation, we performed measurements in Goyang, Republic of Korea, at a frequency of 2.4GHz using the IEEE 802.15.4 standard. Although path-loss variance for any street existed, measurements yielded a typical pathloss of PL(dB) = L r    ) ( log 10 10  , where  is the path-loss coefficient, r is the street le...

Signal Strength Estimation and Comparison with Measured Signal Strength for Mobile Cellular Communication

2098 www.ijarcet.org  Abstract— In wireless communication systems, path loss models are used to find out the path loss between transmitter and receiver. In this paper, Okumura, Cost-231, Hata, ECC 33 and SUI propagation models are discussed. Path losses are estimated using these models in urban, suburban and rural areas. The signal strength are then estimated in all the three environments and ...
